Setting the noatime flag for filesystems inside an lxc containerview story

http://serverfault.com – My host filesystem is ext4 mounted with the noatime flag. But inside an lxc-container, the flag is absent. Here's the output of mount on the host: /dev/sdb1 on /home type ext4 (rw,noatime) And here's the output of mount in the container: /dev/sdb1 on / type ext4 (rw) I now have two questions: 1. Does it make a difference if noatime is set in the container? My guess is yes. 2. (HowTos)

http://serverfault.com – I have a RV042 router with a public static IP (XXX.XXX.XXX.42) and 4 LAN ports assigned to net 192.168.1.0/24. Can I connect a host to one of the LAN ports and assign it a public static IP (XXX.XXX.XXX.43) which I own? How can I do that? One of the LAN ports is connected to a switch, with patch chords in the middle and a lot of cables. (HowTos)

Msi install: correct file path adding a file with a transformview story

http://serverfault.com – I have Firefox msi created by FrontMotion. I want to add a custom file and followed this guide using insted for creating the mst transform. I didn't want to mess up the directory table so I decided to use an existing entry with the correct destination path, but that way I was forced to create a directory structure for the source path. Windows - How to redirect all console output to text file? The console program is called by another software that I can't controlview story

http://serverfault.com – It is a pretty complicated issue (at least for me). GUI software at a given moment, calls console software, which outputs something to console and quits. I'd like to save those results to a text file, but I can't call the console software myself. Is there anyway to globally record all console outputs? (HowTos)

iptables and TPROXY supportview story

http://serverfault.com – I'm running iptables v1.4.21 on Ubuntu 14.04 and is trying to setup iptables to use TPROXY. How can I check whether my current build of iptables supports TPROXY? I can check TPROXY support for HAProxy using haproxy -vv, is there something similar for iptables? If there is no TPROXY support, does a TPROXY patch exist for iptables v1.4.21? Or is another version of iptables more suitable? (HowTos)

Multiple file systems on BeagleBone Black?view story

http://serverfault.com – I'm trying to put together a BeagleBone Black using Debian on the EMMC, a separate MicroSD card and a flash USB disk (but could ostensibly be platter media on USB). My question, simply put: are there any special considerations when moving filesystems off of the EMMC (for instance, /var or /home) and onto non-embedded media, or is it the same as doing it on a larger and more "traditional" *nix sys (HowTos)
