http://serverfault.com – How large are DNS datasets such as Google's at 8.8.8.8? I imagine petabytes big. What prevents Domain name owners (example.org), from registering enormous numbers of subdomains? With a just a few different IP addresses. (HowTos)

trying to reach a port forwarded server from the subnet using the public IP not workingview story

http://serverfault.com – I set up a server which is connected to my router. The router forwards a port of my server. So when I scan that port using http://www.t1shopper.com/tools/port-scan/ I got: 188.143.126.14 is responding on port 10415 () In other words the handshake was successful. But when I try to ssh to that port it fails - because the SYN ACK not arrives to the client and start retransmitting the SYN. (HowTos)

Project Free Rom Mirrorview story

http://forum.xda-developers.com – Hi there, I wonder if there is a demand for a free rom mirror service? Some devs still seem to use classic filehosters. My idea is to run the service without ads and speed/wait restriction and with the option to donate for the server costs if a user wants to help. If you like the idea which server locations would you prefer? Thank you. (HowTos)

KB968730 after Server 2003 SP2 already installedview story

http://serverfault.com – Our company already has Server 2003 SP2 installed, and with it brought crypt32.dll version 5.131.3790.5014. We're still, however, having what I believe are SHA2 errors (see below). Some preliminary research suggests that KB968730 should resolve this, but its version number is lower (5.131.3790.4477). Fiberchannel disk Centos6.5view story

http://serverfault.com – I got some fiberchannel disk shelves including several 300Gb SCSI drives and a HP c7000 blade system with multiple blades in it. As there is no storage controller (filer) available i have to do it without. The Idea is to use a blade that has access to the disks. (low cost solution) I configured a centos on a server that has a qlogic fiberchannel port (2400). (HowTos)

Dropping from LTE to H/H+ During Callsview story

http://forum.xda-developers.com – Curious if it's just me or if it's the One/CM11S... No issues with LTE, but the connection drops to H or H+ when I'm on a call... Then picks back up immediately after the call ends. I'm new to AT&T, coming from Verizon, so I wasn't sure if this was typical... So I tested my wife's G3 and a friend's S5 and they both maintain the LTE connection.* Thanks in advance.* (HowTos)
