[server] Problems with SMB share permissionsview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – I have an ubuntu server set up as a media server for XBMC. I find myself having to go in, what seems like every day or every other day, using webmin and resetting the folder permissions for the share folder so that users can see/add/delete files from the share folder. Is there something that I can change so I do not need to keep doing this? Thank you (Hardware)

[ubuntu] Issue with combination Audio Jackview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Well, it's been about 11 months since I posted this the first time (Issue with combination Audio Jack), and I'm still struggling with it. For almost a year I've been doing all voice/video chats through my tablet because I can't use a headset with my laptop if I'm running Ubuntu (and dual boot is such a pain). Basically, I have an Asus S400CA laptop. (Hardware)

[other] Ubuntu on Chromebook stopped workingview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hey, Not really sure where to post this so decided to put it in general. I've been trying to get Ubuntu on the Chromebook I never use, maybe it will get more use that way. I tried Chrubuntu, but that didn't go well. It just wouldn't boot. Now I've tried Crouton, and I got it working well. (Hardware)

Unable to complete update to 3.19.0-16view story

http://ubuntuforums.org – My new install of ubuntu 15.04 desktop cannot completely update to 3.19.0-16 because update-grub hangs. It finishes generating grub.cfg.new and sits there forever. I manually rename grub.cfg. Clean up the dpkg updates and lock to reboot. Everything seems ok but the next time I run apt-get upgrade, it tries to run update-grub again. How do I fix/avoid this? (Hardware)

Recover a VirtualBox virtual machineview story

http://askubuntu.com – I'm in a big trouble. Lubuntu totally messed up after failed upgrade from 14.10 to 15.04: it couldn't recognize network, video card (worked with 80x600 only), USB peripherals, etc. the only thing I was able to do had been copy the home folder in my 500gb external hard disk, reinstall the system, reinstall all programs (I used dpkg --get-selections to do it faster) and copy back the home folder. (HowTos)

Bash Script to periodically update imagesview story

http://askubuntu.com – How can I set up a script that will take the most current image in a folder on a remote server, and display the most current images on my host device. Possibly updating the image every 30 seconds? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would be using this on a raspberry pi tied to hd TV. So possibly thinking about it being an image viewer in full screen mode. (HowTos)
