I created two users vnc_larry and vnc_moe and from ifconfig -a I find the IP address is 123.456.7.89 (say) then I issue vncviewer on computer 1, it opens a VNC Viewer window where I can key in the 123.456.7.89:1 for the `VNC server' field. With the passwd for vnc_larry, I can get TigerVNC with a gnome desktop. (HowTos)
