Side Loading Alternative?view story

http://forum.xda-developers.com – I've been side loading apps using ADB across my home network, but is there a way to use a file manager (like ES File Explorer) to install APKs? I put an APK on my Fire TV and tried using ES File Explorer and it gave my an error stating that the install was blocked because my "phone" was set to not allow installs from unknown sources. Is there a way around this restriction as this time? (HowTos)

increase limit within a programview story

http://stackoverflow.com – I have a C program on Ubuntu. This program needs to open a lot of files. So I have to run it as the following: ulimit -n 10000; ./xyz Wonder if there is a way to do something within the program xyz itself to increase the limit. The program runs as root user, so it has the necessary privilege. (HowTos)

Win7 updates just never endview story

http://forums.fedoraforum.org – I was working with Windows 7 under VirtualBox, from home, doing some work related stuff even though I'm off today. I was again reminded about how the updates to the system and the reboots / long shutdown times never end. So frustrating. The next time I boot this thing I can almost guarantee that there will be more updates installed and the system will be rebooted at least once or twice. (HowTos)
