Centos 7 poor download speed from internetview story

http://superuser.com – I'm currently in the process of setting up a home server using centos 7, everything is working perfectly except downloading from outside my network (ie yum updates, wget, speed test). Internally i can scp files as fast as my hard drives can read/write, externally speed test is reporting 1.7 Mbits for centos, but on a windows machine in the same network it is reporting the correct 25+ Mbits. Any alternative to mklink on linux ? Not ln pleaseview story

http://stackoverflow.com – I want to create an lnk file out of an existing or inexisting file. I don't have COM enabled on my server, I'm running my php site on a linux server. I tried the following : sysytem("ln -s TARGET LINK") It does create the link, but windows doesn't seem to support linux's symbolic links. I tried also : symlink("target","link"); It works too, but the shortcut doesn't work either. (HowTos)

https://www.kubuntuforums.net – I suspect I may have found the cause of unknown problems, perhaps in previous installations too, while attempting to solve my problems by going back 2 versions of Kubuntu to 13.10. For those of you accept the challenge and who have been trying to help me for months now, what I must describe is confusing for me, may be very understandable or may also be confusing for you, however was not noticed (HowTos)

Why does pthread_mutex_lock always return 0 (but no errors) when a program is not linked to the pthreads library?view story

http://stackoverflow.com – I recently stumbled upon what I thought was quite a weird behavior of the pthreads library (or at least its implementation in Linux Mint 16, Ubuntu EGLIBC 2.17-93ubuntu4, NPTL 2.17, gcc Ubuntu/Linaro 4.8.1-10ubuntu9 ). When compiling a pthreads program, I accidentally forgot to link it with the pthreads library (i.e., I forgot to add the -lpthread flag to the gcc command line). (HowTos)

How do you make the warning come up that has the words 'suspicious' and '-Wmain' in it?view story

http://stackoverflow.com – It's a simple question really, and refers to Linux (as opposed to Windows or Mac). How do you generate a warning message from the C or C++ compiler that must have the word 'suspicious' in it, and must refer to (-Wmain). (HowTos)
