Tiling window manager with monitor span supportview story

http://superuser.com – I am looking to use a tiling window manager under Linux (Fedora 21 if it matters). I searched for a couple of days in the documentation for some of them, mostly awesome, i3, xmonad, though I've read through a few others from this list: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Comparison_of_tiling_window_managers The problem I have is that from what I've read, they don't support monitor spanning. Is there a way that I could upgrade my laptop to noticeably decrease output times, or anything I can do to help tweak the performance? Laptop specs ar (HowTos)
