How to execute shutdown command from Node.js app on Raspberry Piview story

http://stackoverflow.com – I have a headless Raspberry Pi running a simple NodeJS application. The only interface I have attached to the Pi is a single push-button which starts and stops a timelapse video recording. I know it's not good practice to cut the power to the Pi without a proper shutdown, so I want to add a shutdown command to Node. Using ShellJS, I can do this very simply - if the user holds down the push-butt (HowTos)

Port configuration for USB 3.0 Camera setupview story

http://superuser.com – I'm building a setup with 10 USB 3.0 5MP color cameras and need to connect all of it to a single desktop computer running latest Linux kernel. By trial and error, I've found out that 3-4 cameras per USB hub is the limit of what a single port can handle. Therefore I can have 3 hubs to cover for 10 cameras. My question is: is there a better configuration? (HowTos)

unable to login into sparkview story

http://www.linuxquestions.org – I installed openfire in centOS 6.4 server (192.168.1.118) and i was able to login into spark using the server as 192.168.1.118. we want to use spark from outside, so i did a port forwarding in my dlink router with 192.168.1.118 and 9090 (default port of openfire). even allowed it as public. We use public static ip say xxx.x.xx.xx now if i give this as server in spark i am unable to login. (HowTos)
