APC bx1500lcd battery replacement-strange occurance -doesn't accept larger batteriesview story

http://hardforum.com – I have a 900watt 1500VA APC that has 2 very small 8AH batteries. I also have a a 2200 watt/3000VA APS smart-backup that takes 4 20AH batteries of which two were dead and the other two seemed fine, they stay charged at 12.91 & 13.05v. I looked at how my APC unit was connected and saw it was in series w/ no fuse, so no biggie, it just needs 24v's of batteries. (Hardware)
