Flash BIOS in Ubuntu (Advent 4211 needs MSI Wind U100 Bios)view story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hello, I have an Advent 4211 which I wish to overclock. However, to do this I would need the MSI Wind U100 BIOS. I am unsure how to go about doing this. I have been on the MSI website, and the tools seem to be for Windows? Even on Windows I wouldn't know how to this. I have used Ubuntu for some years now and can do most general things in terminal, but may struggle with more complex projects. (Hardware)

[ubuntu] Guest account suddenly owns the backup drive 12.04view story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Today, I logged in using the guest account, just to see what it could see. Was surprised that it had so much access to the hard drives and folders. So, I logged in with my usual account and discovered that all of a sudden, I don't have access to anything other than the main hard drive. The backup drive, named Photos, now belongs to guest. I've tried running a sudo chown on /media/Photos. (Hardware)

Bumblebee on Thinkpad W530view story

https://bbs.archlinux.org – Are you on a 64-bit or 32-bit machine? Looking at the log, its referencing lib32 primus which is strange. maybe I am unsure how it works. If you are 64-bit running 32-bit anything (primus, nvidia drivers, or the command running) you need the two lib32 packages i mentioned. niriven https://bbs.archlinux.org/profile.php?id=59111 2014-04-08T23:18:36Z (HowTos)

Ipod not recognised, not bootingview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Is there a way to force a plugged in Ipod to be recognised? I have a classic 5th generation 30Gb. I have done a wrong formatting with the disk utility program, I dont really remember which one. That was a mistake. The Ipod doesn't start anymore. The hard drive start spinning, tries to boot and stops and repeat the same over and over again. I can't reset it. (Hardware)
