http://ubuntuforums.org – I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 64 bit on a custom built machine that's about 5 years old. (2nd gen Pentium quad core, 8 GB RAM, Gigabyte P65 mobo, nVidia Geforce 8600 GTS.) Ubuntu install went bad. Is there any way to wipe partitions?view story

http://askubuntu.com – I recently installed 12.10 but found out that I had stupidly downloaded 32-bit by accident so I tried to downgrade to 12.04 but didn't succeed. I didn't use wubi so I can't boot into windows to kill the partitions and perform another install. Apparently, I can't just go ahead and delete the root partitions either. (HowTos)

Ubuntu 12.10 installer can't detect hard drivesview story

http://askubuntu.com – I'm hoping someone here could help me with the installation problem I'm having, namely Ubuntu doesn't detect my hard drives. I've tried installing from a disc and using wubi; neither have worked. Drives are detected just fine in Windows 7. I searched around to see if any of my hardware is incompatible, but didn't find anything. (HowTos)

Wubi after -upgrading- win7 to win8view story

http://askubuntu.com – I've seen a lot of question about Ubuntu and Win 8 on a new machine with windows 8 preinstalled and that UEFI stuff, but nothing useful about -upgrading- from win7 to win8 and Ubuntu. I have a win7 machine (no UEFI firmware) with a WUBI installation of 64-bit Ubuntu 12.10 and am looking to simply upgrade from win7 to win8. (HowTos)

Ubuntu 12.10 wont install from hard drive after reboot promptview story

http://askubuntu.com – After downloading Ubuntu 12.10 yesterday and using the Wubi option to install through windows 7 I hit a road block. I partitioned the C: drive to install Linux and did the primary install no wories. But, after I get the prompt to reboot, which I do, I choose Ubuntu and the Installation starts just fine. (HowTos)

Does the 12.10 Wubi install work with Windows XP SP3?view story

http://askubuntu.com – I did a fresh installation of XP SP3 on an IBM ThinkPad T40, 512 MB of RAM, Pentium M 1.5 GHz processor. I ran the wubi executable for 12.10 and let it download and unpack the image. When it said I needed to reboot the computer to complete the installation, I let Wubi restart it. During the reboot, it never came up to the boot menu and just booted into windows. (HowTos)
