How do I refresh Disk Utility?view story

http://askubuntu.com – I do a lot of live system building, which eventually involves imaging a USB drive with the built binary image: dd if=binary.img of=/dev/sdX sync ...where /dev/sdX is a USB drive. As part of my workflow, I like to have Ubuntu's Disk Utility open so I can verify the drive letter and unmount anything that gets mounted automatically. (HowTos)

openSUSE 12.2 Milestone 2 is outview story

http://news.opensuse.org – Those following openSUSE development closely probably know that the 2nd milestone on the way to openSUSE 12.2 was planned for the beginning of this week. And indeed you can now download it from software.opensuse.org/developer. As usual, a list of the most annoying bugs is being maintained and you can see the list of bugs and/or file a new one in Bugzilla. (Distributions)

Your stories? I've given up on 6-year effort to replace Windows with Linuxview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – I know this has been posted countless times. But I'm not doing it as a complaint, rather as an observation and also my story on how I haven't GIVEN UP on Linux, but rather just rewritten my own personal use-case for it. I'd love to hear other stories. When I first really jumped into Linux, I was totally hooked (I had also recently worked for Microsoft at the time). (Hardware)

How do I fix btrfs?view story

http://unix.stackexchange.com – I've trawled mailing lists and finally finished up on Ubuntu's btrfs page, and am left feeling that btrfs still does not have a full fixing utility (as indicated on their home page). Even though months ago it was slated for being the default for Oracle's linux and is included in many distros. So, in lieu of that, is there a troubleshooting guide somewhere about how to fix btrfs? Eclipse tooltip preference bar on focusview story

http://askubuntu.com – When I hover over a suggestion line in Eclipse to view the suggestion tooltip box, and then focus on the tooltip box, a bar gets added to the bottom of the tooltip obscuring some of the text. It's easily fixable by resizing the tooltip box, but it's annoying and ruins my workflow. Any suggestions to get around this? Sorry if I haven't put this very eloquently, it's hard to explain.
