Blinking cursor from fresh install to SSDview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hi there, So I recently made the switch to Ubuntu from Windows 7, primarily because Windows 7 failed on me. I have a 250 gb SSD and 1tb HD. I installed Ubuntu to the SSD and when I booted up after the bio screen I just get a black screen with a blinking cursor. So I also installed Ubuntu to the HD, and when I boot up on that it works just fine. Any idea what the issue is? (Hardware)

Xorg resolution issue on second monitorview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hi Ubuntu Forums, I have an Acer P215H monitor that I've added as a dual monitor. It won't display any resolutions higher than 800x600 though. The display works perfectly fine in Windows. I've tried adding the resolution to xorg.conf based on the EDID information that I was able to get from a Windows program but it still refuses to display anything about 800x600. (Hardware)

Windows thinks phone is "Removable Storage" so adb won't workview story

http://android.stackexchange.com – When I plug in my phone to flash a new ROM onto it, I can't use adb and fastboot because windows thinks my phone is "removable storage." It doesn't list the Google phone driver anymore as an option, just ones related to storage. When trying to set the files manually, windows insists it has a better driver and won't update it. How can I make my phone seen as a phone again using the correct driver? (HowTos)

It wasn’t that long ago that Opera was one of the top contenders in the startup browser community and users even paid for that privilege. Opera has hung in there over the years by offering innovative features not available in other browsers. (Hardware)

[Windows 7] OEM Windows 7 reinstall as Virtualbox guest?view story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Having accomplished a complete switch to Ubuntu with the exception of Photoshop and Illustrator, I decided just to run those in a guest OS using Virtualbox. The computer originally had Windows 7 as the main (host) operating system. Has anyone ever reinstalled their OEM Windows 7 as a guest? I'm just wondering if I will run into problems with the licensing. (Hardware)
