[ubuntu] Wifi really slow on my granny's ubuntuview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – I've installed Ubuntu 10.04 on my french grandmother's computer and tried to make a very simple configuration for her. The only problem is that the wifi connection is really slow. If I boot Windows (vista) it gets much faster. I don't want to upgrade to 10.10 because I live in Sweden and I only get to see her here once every two years. (HowTos)

[all variants] PCMCIA 802.11n recommendationview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hello all, apparently my old DLink DWL-G650 card doesn't work properly on Ubuntu (it drops so many frames (?) that it's almost impossible to surf the web). So while I change it I might as well jump to 802.11n. Anybody has a PCMCIA card to recommend that works out of the box ? I'll get the matching wifi router at the same time as I know there are incompatibilities between companies. Thanks (HowTos)
