General Want ICS but cannot install Kies.. Orange UK. Option?view story

http://androidforums.com – Hi I really want to install ICS but cannot install Kies onto my laptop (Vista SP2 32bit)... it just seems to hang at the registering modules stage during Kies installation. I understand that Kies is supposed to be gash anyway. What are my other options to get the latest firmware to my Orange UK handset? I have heard of Odin, would that be worth looking at? Cheers (General)

[OtherOS] Windows 8 and Desktop Linuxview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – I personally think it can only go from 1.8% (right now) to about 2.4%, 2.6% if we're lucky. The reason is Microsoft already achieved a monopoly lock on the operating system market. When they finally realize that they are crazy making Windows 8, they could just go back to promoting Windows 7 like hell, like they did with Vista and XP. (Hardware)

Word 2010 creates multiple processes... sometimesview story

http://serverfault.com – I've run into a strange behavior when I migrated our users from Office 2007 / Vista to Office 2010 / Windows 7 (all 32-bit). They use a web based document management system called NetDocuments which stores all their .doc/.docx files. Generally, when they click on a doc from the browser window it fires up Word and opens the doc. (HowTos)

[SOLVED] Changing from VBox to KVM/QEMU?view story

http://forums.fedoraforum.org – Given that Oracle seems to be growing increasingly hostile, it seems that it might be good to migrate off of VirtualBox to KVM/QEMU. However, I have some concerns. VirtualBox (Oracle's version, not the OSE edition) supports USB devices and setting up a shared directory that I can use to share files between the host machine and the guest machines. (HowTos)
