I could understand at the beginning of the Ubuntu installation a VGA screen is used. I'm not too sure of the dimensions and color depth used, but I would imagine that's quite small. (HowTos)

However, I highly recommend that you try to setup a test-install of the CrunchBang and then see yourself if Jolicloud interface would work as expected.You can setup test-installation in VirtualBox (or similar), or you can setup CrunchBang on USB stick (I mean real installation on USB stick, not Live session).
