Unable to select Keyboard Type on Sun Fire X2270 serverview story

The installation starts well but on getting to the keyboard type the installation halts. I have plugged in a USB keyboard unfortunately, am unable to select the keyboard type even on reboot as the keyboard is non-responsive. What might be the issue? (HowTos)
