I upgraded from a previous version (FC 7, I think) and, initially, the laptop's CD/DVD recognized both CDs (data and audio) and DVDs. After installing other software packages, though, CDs no longer were recognized. DVDs still play -- I can watch movies on VLC, for instance. (HowTos)
