[ubuntu] Strange behaviour with Samba, cifs, symbolic links and 'unix extensions = no'view story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hi, I'm getting peculiar behaviour with Samba and was hoping someone could help me. I have searched quite a bit but not turned up anything like the problem I am facing. I have recently set the 'unix extensions' property on my samba server to 'no'. This was to enable me from my cifs client to 'follow' symbolic links on my server. (HowTos)

USB Devices read-only in Maverickview story

http://www.linuxquestions.org – Hi there, I have a 7 port USB hub that is connected to my Dell GX260 that was working perfectly until the other day. I have Maverick running on the pc and before that Lucid. I had no problems read/writing to USB Flash drives that were plugged into the hub. Now I can only write to them through Nautilus (root), otherwise it tells me 'permission denied'. Any help would be appreciated. (HowTos)
