[ubuntu] NEC FM500CE - can not adjust the volume with Fn keysview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hi, I can not adjust the volume using Fn+F3/F4 keys. When I press it once (for example Fn+F4 in order to increase the volume) it goes slowly all the way till the end (highest volume) and balloon notification blinks as if I was still pressing the button. The same with decreasing the volume. Brightness control works as it should. My system is updated Ubuntu 9.10 (Hardware)

[ubuntu] ath5k broken for 2.6.31 on Atheros AR5212view story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hi, ath5k doesn't seem to work for my wireless card. NM-applet just sits there saying the wireless card isn't ready. Dmesg activates just fine. iwlist says the device can't be used for scanning. In the meantime, I'm using madwifi, but I'd like to be able to use the module that's available without compiling the driver everytime for a new kernel. (Hardware)

[ubuntu] No Wi-Fiview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – I installed Ubuntu 9.10 on my Acer 5315 laptop, no Windows, just Ubuntu, so far everything works fine, except for the in-built Wi-Fi, the Wi-Fi indicator lamp isn't lit, and t won't pick up any networks. I've temporarily fixed the problem by using a USB Wi-Fi key, but would still like the internal Wi-Fi to work. Perhaps some drivers or something would help? TIA (Hardware)

[ubuntu] optical drive errorsview story

My problem is this: Code: [15691.852615] ata3.00: status: { DRDY ERR } [15691.852625] ata3: hard resetting link (Hardware)

[all variants] Looooooooooooong error upon suspendview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Although I by now got the feeling that I'll never get any reply at these forums, I'll still give it a try... Sometimes, when I try to suspend, everything freezes for a second like shortly before a normal suspend, but then nothing happens and it takes a 10 seconds for the computer to come back up. Attached the epic long error in dmesg (Hardware)

[ubuntu] pciehp.pcihp_force=1 boot option stopped workingview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – I have a card reader in my laptop that requires that to work and it used to but just today I noticed it stopped working. I have not had a need to use the card reader in a couple weeks and there has been kernel update so I am blaming them. (Hardware)
