I am considering upgrading the processor form an amd athlon ii x2 6000 to an amd phenom II x4 940. With this change will there need be a major. I have done this kind of upgrade a couple times in windows and once it was smooth with no issue, the other i had to reinstall windows. How does linux/ubuntu handle this? (Hardware)

I could be look at a very dull and basic website and leave it alone for a few minutes and when I move the mouse, nothing happens on the screen. No ctrl+alt+dlt or alt+F2 ... nothing except a reboot. You can use usb_modeswitch to change the modem mode but it'll be even easier to eject it. Thats why i created this script for the ease of own usage. Something to take note: (Hardware)

There is no option for it in the boot loader, but it exists because I can mount it when I am on my desktop and see all my files. PS. First time I tried OpenSUSE, and it has a great KDE integration!
