[ubuntu] Lan dnsview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hi, Having just scanned loads of other posts, I can't find one that addresses this name resolution issue of mine. I have a NAS server running Debian with Dnsmasq (local DNS and DHCP service). This is working well, including fetching upstream requests from my ISP's DNS service and caching them locally. (HowTos)

[ubuntu] Ethernet wired but no connectionview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hi there, I've been trying desperately to network my Acer Revo 3600 with ubuntu Karmic Koala to network my my mac. Wireless works absolutely fine, i've set up smb & afp shares and both work. But I need the wired connection to work as transferring large files, or streaming HD content over wireless is incredibly slow. (HowTos)

http://ubuntuforums.org – First I tried VNC. Easy install through Ubuntu GUI, but I could only see a still picture of the Ubuntu-desktop that wouldn't update. I could see on the Ubuntu monitor that the cursor was moving and the keyboard did work, but on my Windows computer, the screen didn't refresh. (HowTos)

Linux Mint 8 KDE Editionview story

http://thelinuxblog.net – Linux Mint is one of the most popular Ubuntu based distro’s, possibly for the fact it brings something new to the table rather than just a different set of wallpapers. Its always been one of my favorite distros, and like the main Ubuntu project, it has more than one ‘flavour’. (Distributions)

Bordeaux review at webmasterfrank.comview story

http://www.wine-reviews.net – No, this is not a review of wine. It is in fact a review of a computer program made for those of us who use Linux instead of Windows. I use Ubuntu--a flavor of Linux--on my laptop. I use the laptop primarily for browsing the internet and Ubuntu is a bit faster than Windows on the internet and a lot more secure viruswise. [all variants] Can't get ethernet or wifi to workview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – I have an Asrock A330GC, with onboard ethernet, and an Engenius PCI card for wifi. I installed ubuntu server 9.10 no problems, and it picked up my ethernet in the installation with no difficulties. I couldn't get 9.10 to do what i wanted, so I tried installing 8.4 instead. This however didn't pick up any of the drivers, so i couldn't get online. (HowTos)
