http://ubuntuforums.org – Upgraded from 8.10 through 9.04 to 9.10 on ibm Thinkpad A22, now CDROM is inoperable. Anybody else have this problem. Empty, it does appear in media, but put in any cd and it disappears. How do I correct this? Prefer guis, but can type in a terminal. Thank you, tedpome. (Hardware)

The problem is the TV's refreshrate. It is an old PAL-B TV, and therefore it uses a refreshrate of 50hz. Nvidia-settings sometimes recoqnize this, but mostly it is outputting a refreshrate of 60hz. I rolled back the driver on Nov 17 (back to 173.14.20), and it worked fine again. Now, today, for NAR (no apparent reason), it's happened again... suddenly, peoples are green again... (Hardware)
