Touchpad of Dell Vostro 3460view story

http://askubuntu.com – The scroll function of this touchpad does not work with Ubuntu 11.10, 12.04 nor 12.10 (3.5.0-9-generic). xinput shows a PS/2 Generic Mouse. The pointer function works well, though I cannot disable while typing. Any hint on how to enable multi-gesture or just the side scroll on this machine? Thanks, Rod (HowTos)

Touchpad not detected after reboot on Vostro 1710 (Fedora 17)view story

http://forums.fedoraforum.org – Hello, I am a Linux newbie and installed Fedora 17 recently. The touchpad on my Vostro 1710 does not work all the time. The problem arises usually after a reboot, where my Alps touchpad remains undetected (it does not show on xinput list). My problem is very similar (probably the same) to the one found on this forum post https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=99612. (HowTos)

Use windows touchpad driver in ubuntuview story

http://askubuntu.com – Is it possible to use Windows touchpad driver in Ubuntu? I have a Dell n5110 and the touchpad is not recognized. I cannot use scroll, and most annoying, while typing the pointer usually jumps if the touchpad is touched. I see that there are lots of questions here and on the internet about this issue. Some claim to work, but I tried everything with no results. (HowTos)

Fuduntu reviewview story

http://www.linuxandlife.com – Fuduntu is mentioned in several comments in my blog and that makes me want to try it. I have never used Fuduntu before and at the first glance, I thought it is just a derivative of Ubuntu with Fluxbox ( I thought the name was Fubuntu), but then I checked again and realized it is based on Fedora and the name is Fuduntu. F17 on Dell Mini 1012 - can't click and drag with touchpadview story

http://forums.fedoraforum.org – Any input on this is appreciated... I am relatively new to Fedora. I have it installed on an HP EliteBook 6930p and it works fine there. I also put F17 on my Dell Mini 1012 and there is a problem that doesn't happen on the HP. Namely, I cannot click and drag with the touchpad. (HowTos)
