After some digging around it appears that this is due to the new version of Gstreamer that is in the precise repos. For those that wish to replicate this bug quickly, it also happens in the youtube addon for Totem, as well as spitting out an error about missing codecs. (Hardware)

Since upgrading to Ubuntu 12.04, I can no longer see youtube videos in Firefox, Totem or Minitube. I've included screenshots of what I see in Firefox. When I right-click on the Firefox section of where the video should display, I see the following options: Copy, Open with "Movie Player&qu (Hardware)
