http://forums.fedoraforum.org – This post should be relevant to those who run fedora on G45 4500MHD chip computers & especially for laptops because software video decoding makes awful battery life. I am trying to make g45-h264 branch of the libva and intel-driver and haven't found prebuilt packages for fedora - the ones on atrpms are without the patches. (HowTos)
http://forums.fedoraforum.org – Hi all, Fedora 17 I have adobe-release-x86_64-1.0-1.noarch.rpm installed but unable to make Flash Player to work complaining "no flash plugin installed. I als removed totem-mozplugin and restarted Firebox. Still failed. Pls help. TIA B.R. satimis (HowTos)
http://forums.fedoraforum.org – Hi, I am new to Fedora 17. After I put my dvd in my computer, I tried to open it with media player (totem), but there is no option that said "open disc". I installed VLC, but it didn't help at all. Please help me figure out the solution. Thanks in advance. (HowTos)
http://ubuntuforums.org – Hello Ubuntu world! I am completely and utterly new, so stick with me here. I have a desktop computer that I had Ubuntu 10.10 loaded on. Started it up after about a year and upgraded gradually to 12.04 LTS. (I want to post specs, but how do I do it in the fancy scroll box?) Anyway, I have noticed extremely slow internet speeds since day 1. (Hardware)
http://askubuntu.com – In 12.04 LTS when I want to watch a video in a browser like Firefox, it says plug-in is required related with Python 2.7 and it fails to fetch that and get crashed. In previous versions, I can watch AVI videos directly in the browser as streaming, without downloading it. But now its not possible may be due to totem problem. (HowTos)
http://forums.fedoraforum.org – Hi I'm struggling to understand why sound does not work very well on my fedora 17 system. If I run aplay -D hw:0,0 horse.wav I get no sound out. If I run aplay -D plughw:0,0 horse.wav it works If I run Clementine with the Gstreamer audio engine set to Output plugin = Audio sink (ALSA) Output device = hw:0,0 That also works. If I run Totem Movie Player sound does not work (HowTos)
http://unix.stackexchange.com – I have just installed linux mint 13 and I haven't used linux before so I apologise upfront if this question seems basic. I am unable to hear any form of audio on file which I try to play in any "media playing" application but I am not sure why. When I log onto the system I get the start-up sound (before entering login details). (HowTos)
http://askubuntu.com – The one thing I've found in Ubuntu is how the default apps are not usually or easily updated. Apps like Rhythmbox and Totem have gotten new releases since 12.04 came out and I was wondering if there's a PPA or anything I can add so I can have Totem and essentially other default apps up to date. Thanks in advance! (HowTos)
http://askubuntu.com – I have caffeine installed, and it works just fine in gnome-classic (no effects) for preventing sleeping for most processes. For example "vlc", "mplayer", and "totem" all work. I cannot get it to recognize quodlibet. (HowTos)
