How to initiate a process upon a folder's content change in windows 8view story

http://superuser.com – What am trying to find out is, whenever I paste a .war file into my tomcat's webapp folder, I want a command prompt to be launched from tomcat/bin and run catalina jpda start In other words, tomcat should automatically start whenever I drop a war file into the webapps folder. Is it even possible to create a listener on a windows folder and be able to initiate a process thence? (HowTos)

How do I create a .keytab from Active Directory for Tomcat on Linux?view story

http://stackoverflow.com – I have a Linux web server that is looking for a Kerberos realm. I need to give it a .keypass file, which I can do. However, what's really getting me is the KDC. I cannot determine the parent KDC, and I don't know which server would be the admin server. Also, I'm not sure how to go about the process with Ktpass. (HowTos)

How to install Tomcat7 in Ubuntu 14.4LTS?view story

http://askubuntu.com – If I apt-get install tomcat7 it is installing a broken tomcat7. A simple startup.sh will give me errors, than when fixed says that tomcat has started but nothing shows up in localhost:8080. shutdown.sh will give me errors and even throw Java exceptions. This wasn't happening in some previous Ubuntu release, where it simply worked. (HowTos)

Jenkins to SCP a few folders and files from SVN to linux server?view story

http://stackoverflow.com – I use jenkins to do auto deployment weekly to a tomcat server, and it is fairly simple to do using the "curl" with the tomcat manager. and since i am only uploading a .war file, so its very straight forward. But when comes to a backend console application, Anyone has any idea how to use jenkins to upload an entire "set of folders with files" onto a linux box? (HowTos)

How do you gracefully shutdown a Java service from a Bash shell script?view story

http://stackoverflow.com – I'm converting a Java REST service from the 'traditional' way -- as a servlet compliant .war that deploys to a multi-tenant app server (Tomcat) -- to a much simpler embedded setup where there is a simple Java main class that starts an embedded http server (Grizzly+Jersey). The one missing piece is the service wrapper. (HowTos)

How to determine what user was used to start Apache Tomcat last (or last few times)view story

http://unix.stackexchange.com – On a Mac, or a Linux Tomcat install, how do I determine what user was used last to start Tomcat? Is there information in the logs somewhere to that effect? Assume that startup.sh and shutdown.sh are being used to control Tomcat. My best guess is the user(s) who have write access to Catalina.out are the most plausible suspects, but I wanted a hard and fast rule for determining who it is. (HowTos)
