Wicd problemsview story

http://crunchbanglinux.org – Hey guys!I have a quick question.  I decided I'd do it and update everything from experimental :P Now I believe wicd is at version 1.7.1b3 (beta 3).  When I start my computer up, Wicd asks for my login password because "it needs to access the network cards".  I've looked around for a solution and haven't been able to find much on this particular problem.&nbs (HowTos)

What are your favourite Linux applications?view story

http://crunchbanglinux.org – So, what are your favourite Linux applications? Popular or obscure, niche or general, useful or fun! Try to include a brief line about what makes the app great.Firefox, naturally. (I use about 30 add-ons, but I'm trying to install less this time around)Gimp. I don't exactly love it, but without a powerful graphics app, I just wouldn't consider Linux. Inkscape is really slick. (HowTos)

Detect GTK theme change in runtimeview story

http://askubuntu.com – I am using this code to set appropriate appindicator icon for my application. Basically I set separate mono dark/light icon for Ambiance and Radiance theme in order to integrate my app into Unity desktop just like many other apps do. This works well, but what I noticed is that other apps (Tomboy, thunderbird...) update their appindicator icons immediately after the theme is changed. (HowTos)

Basket Note Pads - The best scribble pad/note applicationview story

http://linuxers.org – TweetTomboy notes is a great tool when you are looking for a scribble pad to write down a few words, but sometimes you need more. What if you are asked to write a report on some topic; a scribble pad is good to jot down a few points but in a digital world you can get a lot more help from web links, various documents, images etc. combined together with the text than with only the latter.
