This T43 is also often used in a dock connected to an old 19" Dell LCD monitor with 1280x1024 native resolution via a standard VGA-cable. Every time the T43 was booted in the dock with the Dell monitor it has been necessary to manually change resolution using the auto setting. (Hardware)

Sometimes it freezes at the login screen, sometimes at the desktop. So far it hasn't frozen on boot. I'm using Gnome 3 and GDM. Laptop-mode which is enabled on battery and AC power. (HowTos)
