http://ubuntuforums.org – Just after the release I installed Lubuntu 12.04 on an old ThinkPad T43 with a 1024x768 resolution display. This T43 is also often used in a dock connected to an old 19" Dell LCD monitor with 1280x1024 native resolution via a standard VGA-cable. Every time the T43 was booted in the dock with the Dell monitor it has been necessary to manually change resolution using the auto setting. (Hardware)
https://bbs.archlinux.org – My Thinkpad T510 will freeze after anything from a few seconds to a few minutes after boot. I cannot do anything except hard power off the laptop. Sometimes it freezes at the login screen, sometimes at the desktop. So far it hasn't frozen on boot. I'm using Gnome 3 and GDM. Laptop-mode which is enabled on battery and AC power. (HowTos)
