VGA-->HDMI Converter Box only does 4:3. I want it to do 16:10. Is it possible to force the resolution?view story

http://askubuntu.com – I purchased a Monoprice VGA-->HDMI adapter (my Thinkpad X201 laptop only has VGA out). 12.04 displays via the box, but only gives me the option of 800 x 600, or 1024 x 768. Straight VGA cable to an external monitor would give me 1920 x 1200. Is there a way for me to force the external connected HDMI (through the converter box) to display at higher resolution? (HowTos)

So I update the intel drivers to the latest ppa version. (Hardware)

Thinkpad X60s and Gnome 3/ Fedora 17view story

http://forums.fedoraforum.org – I've just resumed using Fedora after briefly trying it out last year. I have a second hand IBM Thinkpad X60s now and after the initial trauma of Yum and RPM Fusion things seem fine. Only one minor-ish issue, which is that if I scroll through Applications in the dash at a certain speed I get weird colour flashing occurring in that space. (HowTos)
