[ubuntu] Nvidia Crashview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – So I'm using Ubuntu 12.04, an unmodified Acer Aspire 5737Z laptop, and attempted to plugin my computer into my buddy's TV via HDMI-cable. It half-worked and half didn't, seeing as how I could see my Desktop image and drag the mouse pointer over there, but that was about it. When I started something it locked itself in the upper left corner, couldn't be moved and could barely be used either. (Hardware)

DreamLinux 5 reviewview story

http://www.linuxandlife.com – When there are a lot of Linux distros around, most distros are unfortunately very similar in features to each other. However, DreamLinux is quite special, this Debian-based distro is one of the few distros that use Xcfe as the desktop environment and it also has a very unique set of preinstalled applications. DreamLinux currently supports only 32 bit architecture. (Distributions)

Mplayer for beginnersview story

http://crunchbanglinux.org – Just for fun I will put a little how-to on using mplayer/mplayer2 for the first timer. But we will stay minimal, no GUI, just the command line.I guess the app is already familiar to you, maybe you use it already with a graphical frontend like SMplayer or Gnome MPlayer etc. to watch movies. But we will be more interested how to use this little player just from our best friend, the CLI. (HowTos)

How do I make the PolicyKit authentication agent window not dissapear when I enter faulty password in Gnome-Shell Ubuntu 12.04?view story

http://askubuntu.com – In Unity, whenever authentication is required and when the PolicyKit authentication agent window is presented, it stays there even after I would enter a faulty password. But under Gnome Shell, whenever I make a mistake, the window is closed immediately. I find this behaviour irritating. For instance I use Synaptic rather frequently, and I prefer to start it using Synapse. (HowTos)
