[other] How to have Var/WWW connected to domain name?view story

http://ubuntuforums.org – I have set up Anchor CMS, LAMP, Webmin, PHPMyAdmin and basicly have a server going. But one thing k can't figure out, is how do I connect Var/WWW to a domain name? I can browse to local host, but I want to make my site available to the outside. I have a domain name registered with 1and1. It used to be easy, just use GoDaddys name servers and connect them to 1and1s domain manager. (Hardware)

subdomain working/notworking/working etcview story

http://forum.directadmin.com – I have setup a subdomain on raadvanarbeid.nl: nop.raadvanarbeid.nl. Sometimes it's reachable, sometimes not. I want to install forum software (fudforum) in this sub, and even though I am running mod_ruid2 it sometimes(!) asks to change permissions on the folder containing the installer (raadvanarbeid.nl/nop). So when I can reach the sub I start the installer. (HowTos)

User's membership in active directory group not showing through powerbrokerview story

http://serverfault.com – We're using Powerbroker open (Version 7.1) to authenticate Active Directory users into our Oracle linux (V6.4) (servers. I have a user "Joe Blow", who was added to the Active Directory group, "unix_xyz" today. (for users of the xyx application). I wanted to verify that Joe was correctly seen on the linux server, so I ran the PB utility list-groups-by-user to verify. (HowTos)

Removing DHCP role, cleaning up AD dataview story

http://serverfault.com – Back story. So we had a development engineer (who just happened to have access to a domain admin account) who set up a handful of DHCP servers on our domain. This caused headaches, as the new DHCP servers were authorized on our domain and made authoritative. These servers are temporary and are being moved to another third-party site. (HowTos)

How many Tomcat instances can one application server handle?view story

http://serverfault.com – My network engineer states I am part of a cluster where two apache application servers(512G RAM each) have 142 instances each of Tomcat (of which my company represents 6 each with 2G RAM). This seems like a lot and my latency issues move with the hour of the day - 7AM CST software functions fine, 10AM CST - system slows significantly this slowness continues until 6PM CST. (HowTos)

VM is unable to access file share on Hyper-V 2012 Hostview story

http://serverfault.com – This problem just started recently. I have a number of VMs (2008 R2) on a 2012 Hyper-V host but not all are effected in the same manner. The VMs are identical and no changes were made to either the VM or Hyper-V host. I am unable to reach the Cluster Shared Volume on a few VMs. I am able to ping the Hyper-V host by name and IP. But I cannot connect to the share via name, IP, or FQDN. (HowTos)
