http://unix.stackexchange.com – I have set up an Ubuntu server (12.04 LTS) for samba file sharing. The problem I'm having has to do with files that I create on the server. Other users can't open them because when I create them they are created under a group that is my user name, instead of the the group that is allowed to view the share. Why is this? The computer is a new ASUS desktop CM6870 with i7-3770 @ 3.40 GHz 64 bit system. I think wvdial is working but Firefox, Kmail, and Thunderbird fail to connect to server, or report no host. (HowTos)
