View MAC of recent connectionsview story

http://www.linuxquestions.org – I've got a machine on my lan that's currently shutdown. I want to bring it online with WOL but for the life of me can't remember the mac. I have used that machine in the past to ssh into a server and do a few other things. My router doesn't log macs anywhere but in dhcp but the machine is configured statically. (HowTos)

[ubuntu] My External IP does not workview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hi, I know that the topic is not new but I couldn't solve it in no way. I am running an Ubuntu 10.4 box with all ports forwarded on an internet router. The point is I can ping my PC with its external IP but no other services are accessible through it. I have also checked my iptables rules. It's completely flushed and the default rule is set to ACCEPT. (HowTos)

[ubuntu] Ubuntu netbook to Ubuntu PC ICS Problemview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – I have managed to share my internet connection from my aspireone netbook (Ubuntu 9.10) to my PC running XP. This seems to work fine - after I unplug the lan connection and then reconnect. However, if I try to do the same with another Ubuntu PC(9.10), it just says "no connection". I have checked all the settings on network manager like sharing etc and nothing seems to work. (HowTos)

Invoke network-admin, unlock (with sudo credentials), set the desired IP, netmask and gateway. It is good to go. On the 10.04 box I did the following: (HowTos)

[ubuntu] Firestarter blocks 192.168.1.1 and 100??view story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hello everybody! I have wireless connection between my router and PC. It is the only computer connected. Sometimes Firestarter blocks ports 1900 and 6771 from 192.168.1.100 IP address and sometimes port 68 from 192.168.1.1 IP. I'm a bit confused because 192.168.1.100 is the IP addres i use to open ports in router and 192.168.1.1 is used to access the router settings.. (HowTos)
