Can't access FTP from the WANview story

http://www.linuxquestions.org – I am trying to set up an FTP server that can be accessed from the outside world on my gateway. I'm running Ubuntu 9.10 as the gateway, with shorewall as the firewall. I can log into my ftp server from the local network but not from the WAN. I have all the proper ports forwarded on the router, but the box just doesn't seem to like the idea. Whenever I try to connect I get: (HowTos)

[ubuntu] Firestarter blocks 192.168.1.1 and 100??view story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hello everybody! I have wireless connection between my router and PC. It is the only computer connected. Sometimes Firestarter blocks ports 1900 and 6771 from 192.168.1.100 IP address and sometimes port 68 from 192.168.1.1 IP. I'm a bit confused because 192.168.1.100 is the IP addres i use to open ports in router and 192.168.1.1 is used to access the router settings.. (HowTos)

PCLOS 2010 not connecting to Internetview story

http://www.linuxquestions.org – Hi, I have been using PCLOS for a few years now, 2007 and 2009. My PC connects via eth0 to an ADSL modem/router either with static IP or DHCP and Internet works fine. I formatted a partition and installed PCLOS 2010.7 KDE to it. I booted the new system, expecting to (almost) never see the old (HowTos)

[all variants] Wireless Connection reset in Firefox every couple minutesview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – This started happening as soon as I got my D-Link router (DIR-615, running firmware version 5.00NA). Every couple minutes, I'll have a little 20 second block of Firefox generating some error report about the connection being reset and sometimes saying that the page is corrupted. Clicking try again several times will let me get through, but this is really annoying when I'm doing research. (HowTos)

Problems with wireless driver on asus model: Eee PC 1005HAB.view story

http://www.linuxquestions.org – My wireless card was doing fine until I started using a encrypted wireless connection. Every time I get disconnected from my router it automatically tries to log my back on if it fails the first time my wireless program tells me other networks I could connect to but for some reason the only way to get my wireless card to work is to reboot. I did not modify it hardware wise at all. (HowTos)

[xubuntu] Newly-installed USB Wireless adapter WAS working...view story

http://ubuntuforums.org – I have an old Gateway desktop computer which is now running Xubuntu. When I moved it to my office I installed a Linksys USB Wireless Adapter, model WUSB12 version 1. This was not accomplished without incident--I installed ndisgtk (I already had ndiswrapper) and changed some settings (which I cannot remember right now) but after about an hour it worked. (HowTos)
