Can I connect totem/mplayer with my multimedia library as the default player?view story

http://askubuntu.com – I am a huge fan of totem and mplayer and prefer their sound to other applications. I want to setup my multimedia library in such a way that when I play any multimedia file it should be played in totem/mplayer. PS: I use Ubuntu 11.10. PPS: I would really appreciate if I could get most of the functionalities of softwares such as Banshee and Rhythmbox if not all. (HowTos)

http://crunchbanglinux.org – I've been playing around with wheezy and sid repos and have (often inadvertently) upgraded some packages here and there.Nothing is broken (I've taken care to not upgrade too many packages), but rhythmbox is all ugly (sort of old-school linux ui). (HowTos)

Rhythmbox build errorview story

will Canonical still be splitting revenue from Ubuntu One Music Store in 12.04?view story

http://askubuntu.com – I don't want to start any kind of problem, I'm just VERY curious on this. Because Ubuntu is moving back to Rhythmbox as default (which I'm VERY happy about) Will Canonical still have to give Banshee a share of revenue after 12.04? I know they have to with BOTH Rhythmbox and Banshee in 11.04 and 11.10 I'm not sure on 10.10 and 10.04 though. (HowTos)

[SOLVED] Interested in very few upgrades, shall I move to sid?view story

http://crunchbanglinux.org – Hi everybody,I'm pretty new to crunchbang and to the forum, but I like the distro a lot. I do have a problem, anyway, with a few apps which seem to be too old to work properly with some stuff that I attach to my pc.In particular, I noticed that rhythmbox doesn't recognize my mp3 player, and ufraw/rawtherapee are too old to properly convert the raw images from my camera. [ubuntu] iPod podcastsview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hi, I'm trying to get my iPod fully working with ubuntu 11.10 so I don't have to keep booting into windows to manage things. I've tried a few different things so far: 1)Rhythmbox: this finds my iPod OK, has a nice podcast management system built in, and all looked very nice. UNTIL I tried to sync with the iPod or look at iPod properties then it just crashes and shuts down. (Hardware)
