I downloaded the source using sudo apt-get source rhythmbox afterwhich I ran configure with the argument --prefix=/home/notgary/rhythmbox/build in order to keep the compiled binary from messing up my existing system. Because Ubuntu is moving back to Rhythmbox as default (which I'm VERY happy about) Will Canonical still have to give Banshee a share of revenue after 12.04? I know they have to with BOTH Rhythmbox and Banshee in 11.04 and 11.10 I'm not sure on 10.10 and 10.04 though. (HowTos)

I'm trying to update my music library from cds, the problem is that the internet no longer searches for the album information or anything and i dont have the time to type in all the track names on all my cds. does anyone know how to fix this? I've tried a few different things so far: 1)Rhythmbox: this finds my iPod OK, has a nice podcast management system built in, and all looked very nice. UNTIL I tried to sync with the iPod or look at iPod properties then it just crashes and shuts down. (Hardware)
