http://androidforums.com – My phone was deleted a few days ago, and I want to recover some specific conversations from Whatsapp. The issue is that the latest .db.crypt file I got is from July, and I do not know if the new version of the app has changed anything, but there is absolutely no way the phone recognizes an existing backup when I reinstall Whatsapp. I have tried several times but no luck at all. Part of the exploit set the permissions on pretty much everything to 777. In attempting to fix the incorrect permissions I inadvertently set /lib to 644 instead of 755 as it should have been.
