Is using a NAS with hot swap disks an effective way of cycling backups?view story

http://serverfault.com – We are looking at improving our backup solution. We don't have a huge amount of data to back up (currently ~500GB) which is backed up nightly onto an external HD. We have 3 of these HD, with one going in the firesafe on a weekly basis, and the other 2 rotating each night, so that the latest backup goes offsite overnight. The external HD are reaching capacity though, hence looking to upgrade. (HowTos)

Problems with multicasts in "iptables"view story

http://serverfault.com – My question is related to multicasts and iptables. I want to allow ICMP and IGMP multicasts from the local VLAN 192.168.1.0/24 as well as from 0.0.0.0 on my CentOS machine, so I added the following rules to my inbound chain: # ACCEPT - Multicast 224.0.0.1 from current VLAN as well as 0.0.0.0 # -- ICMP iptables -A IP-INPUT -s 192.168.1.0/24 -d 224.0.0.1 -m pkttype --pkt-type multicast --protocol (HowTos)

Support link2sd issuesview story

http://androidforums.com – hey guys, just a quick few questions about link2sd app that I'm having issues/concerned about. First one is that ever since I started using link2sd, first with a huawei ascend m860, and now with an LG Esteem MS910, the boot up time has always been a pretty long one. With my LG Esteem, before using link2sd, it would usually take about 2 minutes 30 seconds for it to boot up. (General)
