perl script output cannot pipe to fileview story

http://www.linuxquestions.org – I have a strange problem. My perl script produces the output when I run from the command line but when I pipe it to a file, it just hangs. ie. no output to the file at all. Additional info: There is one subroutine which does an ldap lookup, then passes the result via a 'return', then I 'print' the variable. (HowTos)

Any way to know beforehand if SUDO is (going to be) needed?view story

http://www.linuxquestions.org – I'm using virtual file-system in /proc/ to print out current working directory (CWD): Code: ls /proc/$PID/cwd # part of an argument to printf (full printf below) Now, some processes complain about SUDO privileges (e.g. init: ls: cannot access /proc/1/cwd: Permission denied). Is it possible to know beforehand if action/command will require SUDO? (HowTos)
