How do you mount a partition locked by Windows hibernation without dual bootview story

http://askubuntu.com – I've installed Ubuntu on a friend's laptop, completely replacing Windows 8. He has a backup ntfs partition that I left untouched after the operating system was replaced. I get an error in Nautilus when I try to mount; it's because of Windows hibernation from what I've read. (HowTos)

[ubuntu] Can't boot after installing Ubuntu LTS 12.04 alongside Windows 8.view story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hello, I'm new to Ubuntu. After installing the Ubuntu LTS from a LiveUSB, only the GRUB Minimal Bash-like is showing on start up. I've created separate partitions for Ubuntu as stated by a guide. I've googled the problem but it seems like it's a case-to-case basis since each of the users are posting the results of their bootinfoscript. (Hardware)

16Gb ram - Do I need swap?view story

http://crunchbang.org – you do not need it and ram is faster. just take it out of fstab and if you want delete partition and resize(normally will work without problems). I have only 3gig of ram and hardly ever goes to swap(actually I have never seen it above 0) though I do have swap of 120 mb just incase. I would say if you have a gig of ram or lower you would need it. on my computer #! (HowTos)

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hello all, My last computer broke and I'm debating trying something new with the next one. However, there are a lot of pieces to it and I haven't been able to sort them all out on my own. I just bought an Acer Aspire V5-572G-6679, which apparently has an unoccupied mSATA port inside.
