Gnome monospace bold fontview story

https://bbs.archlinux.org – You seem to have quite a few fonts from the AUR.  I have no idea if it would help, but I know I would try removing the 'ttf-unifrakture' package. As I wrote above, I don't use Gnome so my suggestions could be very wrong.  Are you using a custom theme, from outside the main repos?  Do you have the DejaVu fonts installed so that there's a sane fallback to match any (HowTos)

#!/Arch Linux compare and contrast [solved :-p]view story

http://crunchbanglinux.org – I'm gonna open a thread on a topic that has been covered in a lot of different ways by a lot of different people, because I just installed Arch Linux for the first time.I'm not intending to put my opinion into this much, just make as objective a comparison as I can from my experiences so far.  I'd love for open discussion and comparison between the two to take place, but I&#039 (HowTos)

Problem dvips, xdvi and Japanese fontsview story

https://bbs.archlinux.org – Yes, the fonts are being subsetted and embedded when you generate the pdf. That's good. I think it means that tex is finding the fonts OK now. (I'm not quite sure what complications you may have from having two texlive installations, though, if that's what you've done. But if it works,,,)As I say, I think tikz can use pstricks - it depends what you are using from it. (HowTos)

libpcre.so.0: cannot open shared object fileview story

https://bbs.archlinux.org – From that output it looks like the problem was with the filesystem packages and all the errors seem to be with grep. First you should check what version of pcre and grep you have installed, the current pcre is 8.30-1 and grep is 2.10-3.  If you have both of those installed it might have been a problem with things being inconsistent while pacman was running. Problems with udev, filesystem, kmod after big upgradeview story

https://bbs.archlinux.org – I attempted to upgrade my system today after having not done a full update in a while (I live in a developing country and bandwidth is limited), and it seems I've managed to bork my installation pretty good. I got a bunch of strange messages during the upgrade, and right afterwards, my machine hard froze when I tried to open another program (GIMP). (HowTos)

CInstall crashed, then Plasma crashed, then...view story

http://chakra-project.org – Any user knows not to install packages in a rolling distro, while never updating the system, there is nothing any distro can do about a user choosing to do so.You have a mismatch of old base with new packages sitting on top of that.  There is a small change, pacman -Syy, then pacman -Syu can resolve all that you did break with such a policy.Chakra states on all pages, to please read the begin (HowTos)

wlan wep encryption is failing after system update (pacman -Syu)view story

https://bbs.archlinux.org – Wep and ath9k has been buggy for me for a long time now - sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Never got around it, adding "options ath9k nohwcrypt=1" into /etc/modprobe.d/ath9k.conf seemed to work for some time. You could give it a try. The network I have problems with is at the university, they use wep + vpn to connect. (HowTos)
