Naked DNA? No problem.view story

http://forum.xda-developers.com – Some reasons I like to have a naked phone are that it looks better, is easier to grip, and saves money by not buying the accessories. I'm going to go with no case and no screen protector because I'll be purchasing the DNA at Best Buy with their insurance. It's $10/month with no deductible, and no limit on replacements/repairs. Tips Looking for advice and opinions for a noviceview story

http://androidforums.com – So, I got an Incredible 2 from my sister that she lost, and subsequently found. It cannot be used on the Verizon network anymore, but I'm repurposing it as an XBMC remote as well as other things. Anyway, I'd like to root it and put a custom ROM on there to get rid of all the Verizon crap taking up space and I'd like to be able to run the XBMC app. (General)

But phone's with lower processors, resolution, *older phones* and all of that are receiving the new ics update, which brings me to this question. http://serverfault.com – Are there opinions and experiences to help decide between RedisToGo v/s MyRedis v/s OpenRedis v/s RedisCloud v/s Any Other Hosted Redis offerings? The goal is to have minimal latency and maximal performance for a Heroku application (which is in EC2 in US-EAST / Virginia). I put the names of above 4, as they are in the Addons-List at Heroku. [ubuntu] Hardware performance 12.04 v 12.10?view story

http://ubuntuforums.org – I know this is a query full of variables, but I would value opinions on whether I would take a general performance hit upgrading to 12.10 from 12.04. I have always used the latest release since 7.04 but I'm wondering whether it might be better to stay for a while. My machine is a P4 2.60GHz with 3G RAM and a GeForce 6600 GT 128Mb GPU. It has 3 HDDs (2 x 120G and 1x160G) dual booting with XP. (Hardware)

Why do you prefer spacefm?view story

http://crunchbanglinux.org – I have been interested in trying some different file managers lately, and I have installed spacefm.  It seems fine, but I don't dislike Thunar either.  The only thing that I am really missing in Thunar is tabs.  I have read most of the spacefm posts on the forum, but they're mostly opinions as to whether they like spacefm or not.  What I would like to know is specific (HowTos)

Something we need more of in Europe. (IT news)

Why The Future Of Search May Look More Like Yahoo Than Googleview story

http://techcrunch.com – When Nirvana was cool Rewind to the late 90s. Almost everything you needed – email, news, sports, stocks, maps and more – was conveniently on one site: Yahoo!. Yahoo! was the “portal” to the Internet that strived to deliver everything you could ever want on its own properties. The crazy thing is how successful Yahoo! was at this. (IT news)
