[64 bit] Intel Corp. Wifi Link 5300/Karmic 64b/ThinkPad W700: OS now needs restart 2 reconnectview story

http://ubuntuforums.org – G'day people, I have an IBM ThinkPad W700 running 64 bit Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala. At the office I normally connect it to the Ethernet since it's never connected very reliably to the wifi there (drops out 2 or 3 times per day, usually at the worst possible time, of course), but it always worked just fine with Netgear WGR614v5 at home... Wireless signal problemview story

http://crunchbanglinux.org – Hi:I realize this may be a hardware problem, not a software one, but I thought I'd ask the panel anyway:I have a Gateway NV53A laptop. From the start, I've had trouble with the wireless. It works (I'm using it now), but the signal is pathetic. Sometimes it's less than 30 percent, which makes zero sense since it's not a big house. [ubuntu] Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Wireless Networking--WTF?!!view story

http://ubuntuforums.org – Okay, I've got the same newbie problem as the other newbies regarding wireless networking. I got it up and running a few months back, but the nimrod I rent from did something with his Verizon router and screwed everything up; we've got Ubuntu 8.04 on a Dell Dimension 4600C. Now I have to try getting my gf's Netgear WG111v3 back up & running. (HowTos)

11.3 & Trying To Install PCMCIA card - WG511Tview story

http://forums.opensuse.org – I was trying to get a card to work well with linux. I searched compatibility lists and found the NetGear WG511T to appear good. I got one and when I insert the device, Linux never sees it. In Windows, it appears like normal and drivers install. In OpenSUSE 11.3, the device is never recognized; no lights turn on, not listed under iwconfig, or networkmanager. (Distributions)

[gnome] How do I get my 2 computers to see each other?view story

http://ubuntuforums.org – I have a wired desktop running 9.10 and a wireless laptop running Ultimate Edition 2.6 (aka Ubuntu 10.04). They both connect to a Netgear router. I took down the firewalls on both computers and the router. I also configured remote desktop to accept connections on both puters, but when I go to network all I see is Windows Network. Click on that and I get "unable to mount". (HowTos)

Problems with wireless driver on asus model: Eee PC 1005HAB.view story

http://www.linuxquestions.org – My wireless card was doing fine until I started using a encrypted wireless connection. Every time I get disconnected from my router it automatically tries to log my back on if it fails the first time my wireless program tells me other networks I could connect to but for some reason the only way to get my wireless card to work is to reboot. I did not modify it hardware wise at all. (HowTos)
