Unusual state of internet connection on Ubuntu 11.10view story

http://askubuntu.com – I am currently working on ubuntu 11.10. I tried to upgrade it to 12.04 using the update manager. I am using a wifi connection. I get pretty good downloading and browsing speeds on my host machine which is a windows 7. However, i am not able to upgrade my version of ubuntu as i am getting only around 1 KBps speed on my VM while its more than 1 MBps on my host. Could there be something wrong.? (HowTos)

PIX Firewall Causing Packet Lossview story

http://serverfault.com – I am currently in the process of modifying how internet reaches my front end servers and I am having a strange issue with one of the existing stacks. There is one physical firewall which is above the server, if I use this, I start recieving packet loss across the entire subnet, if I use wireshark I can see arp requests but I still get packet loss. Multiple DNS names and IP address to make load balancing more efficient in an Exchange CAS Arrayview story

http://serverfault.com – The tl;dr problem The CAS server occasionally gets one or two NAT'ed IP addresses that have several hundred users behind it. That is bad for scalability. The tl;dr solution Have the NAT'ed outlook clients connect to more than one DNS name/IP destination. (HowTos)

Ports used for Lync Edge serverview story

http://serverfault.com – I have Lync 2010 Standard deployed in my environment, along with an edge server. On my firewall I have NAT'd the public address(s) to the server. Right now I have all the ports opened for these addresses to work, but now I want to lock this down for security concerns. Is there a complete list of ports that Lync needs opened in order to work properly? (HowTos)

connecting (bridging) two networksview story

http://unix.stackexchange.com – I would like to connect (bridge) two networks (ppp0 and eth2). Normally you would do this with brctl but one of the network-interface is a ppp-device so it won't work (ppp can't transport ppp-frames). What I could do, is enable ip-forwarding but that is not enough as I want traffic from that ppp-device only go to eth2 and vice versa. NAT is fine. (HowTos)
