I want to keep music player openview story

http://android.stackexchange.com – I listen to long podcasts. I am using the native google Play Music. When I download a podcast, it automatically opens music player, which is fine. But as soon as I go to my home screen the player disappears and the podcast stops. All I want to do is do other things while listening to a podcast. Is this even possible on Android? I tried a couple of other music players with pretty dismal results. (HowTos)

http://techcrunch.com –  Android Wear is getting its first big update, with features that make smartwatches using Google’s wearable operating system more standalone devices, including music syncing and GPS location support. What is the most lightweight Android (Nexus 4)view story

http://android.stackexchange.com – I have a Nexus 7 for all my other apps and things but it has little free space. I want to dedicate my phone to calling, texting, and my large music file only. Officially Nexus 4 has Android versions 4.2.2, 4.3, 4.4, 4.4.3, and 4.4.4, however I wouldn't mind using an unofficial ROM as long as it weights little. The phone is 16 GB and I have about 8 GB of music. (HowTos)
