When it starts up there there are lines across the screen and after I log in, The mouse can't reach the edge of the screen on the left and if you touch the top of the screen with the cursors, a bar runs top to bottom and stays there as long as it touches the top. Finding that Ubuntu would run from a USB stick, I created one using 12.10 as instructed on Windows and changed my bios order to boot from USB. Check the top menu bar, that is and background, that's the only part that works, the rest doesn't even-tough the mouse can go over there. I re installed video drivers, xorg and lubuntu-desktop. I cannot login to Ubuntu - after entering my password and pressing enter, the screen graphics gets garbled for a few seconds, and then the screen goes black showing only the mouse cursor. (HowTos)
