Mouse pointer no longer moves after attempted install of bluetoothview story

http://www.linuxquestions.org – I am using Ubuntu 10.04 on a laptop with a Synaptics touchpad. While testing an install of Bluetooth drivers I booted my computer into recovery mode so I could find out if Bluetooth worked before networking was installed. The system reconfigured the graphics to low VGA which disabled the mouse. I rebooted (normal startup) uninstalled the bluetooth drivers, but my mouse still won't work. (HowTos)

http://www.linuxquestions.org – I can get many distros' Live CDs to boot on my Dell Inspiron 1100 laptop, but cannot get the GUI to work correctly. CLI works. GUIs (Gnome, KDE3, KDE4) give me a blank screen except for the mouse cursor, which moves around but does not present a context menu. Live CDs tried so far: CentOS, Kubuntu, Mandriva, OpenSUSE. upgraded to 11.3, system hangs... every 10 seconds for half a secondview story

http://forums.opensuse.org – Hello, I upgraded from 11.2 to 11.3 and found that there was no 3d support with the "nouveau" driver for the nvidia card. Then I linked in the nvidia repo and installed the nvidia driver. After that I noticed I had 3d support but things were a bit choppy, regardless of compositing or other tasks running. Alpha 2 dual-monitor problemsview story

http://crunchbanglinux.org – I frequently use my laptop with a dual monitor or projector, so I hope somebody can help me here. In alpha 1, I used to be able to control a second display with xrandr very easily. In alpha 2, something goes wrong. Whenever I activate the second display, using either xrandr at the command line, or grandr, I get an almost completely unresponsive system. (HowTos)
