iRiver Cover Story Ereader not detectedview story

http://www.linuxquestions.org – Running Mandriva 2010 I have just bought an iRiver Cover Story ereader and found that it is not detected when connected to a USB port. Seeing that the Cover Story is run on Linux, I was surprised to find this problem. It fails to show up in lsusb. Any ideas on getting around this problem would be appreciated.
