Can BIOS interrupts be called from within a Linux program?view story

http://www.linuxquestions.org – Hi: suppose I want to access BIOS int 10h, function 01h, Set Cursor Type. As UEFI images provide legacy support for BIOS services, in theory I can do it, because the int 10h instruction belongs to the processor instruction set in my machine (Pentium G62). But the OS ought to grant me access permission. Perhaps there is a syscall allowing BIOS int calls? (HowTos)
