http://www.linuxforums.org – Hi All, I have a bunch of C++ application which runs as daemons in Linux. Furthermore, since these daemons rely on each other, they use IPC (inter-process communication) to communicate with each other. These daemons are compiled with -g -O0 compiler flags, and started in right order using a shell script. (HowTos)
http://www.linuxforums.org – Guys, I've just signed up for a trial account over at Netflix and have a couple of weeks to decide whether or not I want to keep the account. I've looked around online, but couldn't find anything that was obviously better, but perhaps I've missed some other service that should be considered. Do any of you have other recommendations, or is Netflix the way to go? (HowTos)
http://www.linuxforums.org – Hi all, I am writing a small application which needs to load the driver for the device into the kernel when the device is inserted into the PCI slot. My question is how the kernel notifies the user program or daemon that a new device is inserted into the PCI bus. Can anyone tell me about specific system APIs. Thanks in advance. Regards. (HowTos)

http://www.linuxforums.org – Ubuntu 8.10 At some point, I upgraded Firefox rel 3.0.16 to Firefox 3.6b. Sometimes and only sometimes 3.6b loads on boot. When this level loads there are no bookmarks. I try to load my saved bookmarks and that does not work, but after attempting it, I restart firefox and the previous level (3.0.16) loads. My bookmarks are back but the release level is not the updated one. (HowTos)
